Paris France Sept. 2019 last leg of my ICA (culinary learning journey)

The Eiffel tower and yes that is a halo above my head.
Portugal and Morocco are behind me, and here I am in France. I have been saving Paris for my soulmate, but obviously he is lost somewhere and hasn’t found me yet. So, the optimist in me decided that maybe he is here? Ya think? Portugal produced Miguel, and I fell in love with him, but alas… I cannot take him home with me. All my gf would be too jealous, and my kids would not approve of such a young lover in my life. Sooo ok… that was MY FANTASY, and it is a good one… no? See picture.
There is so much I want to share or at least put thoughts and experiences down here, so I won’t forget. This is a day for me to regroup and just chill. My taxi dropped me off here last night in the dark, and my bed and breakfast host is lovely, but she doesn’t speak much English. We decided to chat in the morning; I just wanted to crash. Crash I did; breakfast was not the connoisseur’s delight of the last ten days, but omg… back to basics suits me just fine. Toast and tomato slices, a couple of eggs easy over, and finally coffee that reminds me of home.
My host and I converse in sign language, and Google Assistant and we do just fine. This house in Versailles is 140 yrs old, and I am enchanted with it. A huge dome-shaped window with windowpanes opens inward like shutters, to expose the brick that was used to build this house. There are no screens, and I am on the second floor with a nice view and a beautiful, soft, cool breeze drifting in. I pick up the ten-pound hardcover book (geez, how stupid is that?) I have been lugging around, and I decide to just lie down and read for a bit, which turns into a two-hour nap. Is life tough, eh?
My attention turns to my ‘Microsoft Surface’ and my blog. This is going to be another journey for me. The internet is connected, but my ancient ‘Surface’ computer has decided that it doesn’t want to play on the internet. Two hours later, I have decided to take up Lon’s advice (Lon Lane IV) and open up my Word document and write in here. Thank you, Lon! Why didn’t I think of that, actually I had no time anyway.
There is no desire in me to venture out anywhere today. I brought some protein shakes along, so I’ll have one of those and maybe another nap, with dreams of Miguel (see picture♥️️) … then I will continue this blog… sigh…
