Transitioning Into ‘OLD’
Transitioning Into OLD
Yep, I’m old, and that saying is true: I’m not getting any younger. But why don’t we feel old in our heads? Our bodies make sure we know we’re aging, but my head still feels like I have all this potential. Another book to finish (hell, I have only just started it). A My-Third Life YouTube channel I want to put up. See… I have over 800 entries, and most need to be vetted (an epic job).
My political self is obsessed with the midterms in the States. Ten more days and we’ll know the outcome, which is not going to be pretty! I expect the republicans to lose big time, but it won’t be without consequences. The pedophile will make sure of that, and it’s going to be painful for the whole world. We’re all going to pay the price for letting an a**hole get away with setting us back into the dark ages!
Geez, I sat down here to write about getting old, and now I’m all fired up against that idiot down south of us. Go figure, eh? The fire inside me never seems to dim. I wonder if I will ever run out of stuff to write about? Maybe my writing is just an excuse to ignore my housework? Hmmm. Well, it is, yes, but I hate housework, and I love writing, so we are at an impasse….
I just had to scroll back up to my title to see what I set out to write about. OMG, that’s part and parcel of aging. Although I get distracted easily, this has always been a part of my life. Being a Gemini could account for this “oh look, a butterfly” lol. Maybe this is why I very seldom get bored; I also take a lot of naps. Naps are a part of our aging process… right? I sure hope so…
Cataracts and sciatica and neuropathy and colchicine pills and… and… naps, and “oh look, another butterfly” : ) Ya, my life is scattered and undefined, and the only thing I know for sure is that I do need that afternoon nap. Sad but true. That’s not to say I’m lazy; hell, I worked my whole life being my own boss and owning and selling five businesses, no mean feat!
Now where was I, oh right, transitioning into old. Hmmmm… well, I guess if we don’t transition, it means we died, but I’m still here trying to figure this all out. I love my life, especially in the pool most mornings; my nap-time is also rewarding. I like being my own boss and not having anyone yell at me (another life). I can come and go as I like and eat what I want, when I want.
The aches and pains and slowing down are all part and parcel of this aging shit. We need to keep our bodies moving, and that’s why we have to get up three or four times a night to pee. We need the exercise; it’s good for us. I know I’ve said this before… stop me if you’ve already heard it, lol. But… nobody listens to an old person. Yep, they don’t care what we have to say, so in the next paragraph I’m sharing something good.
It’s full moon time, and you know what that means? It’s a sexually exciting time of the month. Yep, old people still have that capacity. Since I started my YouTube channel @asknana123 (ask nana anything), it has been an eye-opener for me, OMG! I have been learning lots and have a whole new perspective on us older gals and guys. We are still alive and doing it, sorry/not sorry : )
The surprising part of all this “we’re not dead, yet” is the loving part of our lives. The sharing on that site has led to many surprises for me. Although the site is mostly men, due to a viral post on ‘thongs’ (how old is too old to wear a thong?) I decided to go with it and see where it would lead.
So… my transitioning into ‘OLD’ is turning out to be very informative for me and those who tune in. I still have a lot to learn and a lot less time to learn it in. But such is life, and no one cares about old people, or do they? I live my life my way, and I love the surprising things I’m learning and sharing on that site. Oh… and younger men are loving older women (a lot, it seems) sorry/not sorry : )
Okay, it’s time to wind this down. I’m not sure if this blog made any sense to anyone, but here it is. That’s another thing about aging: we can do whatever we want, because no one cares… dontcha love it?
I do, and thanks for reading my blog… I love you all.
