I’m BAAAAAACK outside on my patio, finally
Well, it’s time for my Funday Sunday blog. I’m starting late because I finally got to the pool yesterday and today. It’s 9 Celsius at eight in the morning here, but I really needed to do this. See, at home I go to the pool every morning, indoors, of course, but it’s the only exercise I get. I really felt this workout, having taken almost 4 weeks off… yikes!
Another biggy is my face, omg! Bringing my magnifying mirror out here with me, along with my tweezers, “holy crap, Batman!” Another hour was spent just getting rid of the pasture growing on my face. I wish I were kidding, but I’m not. Ah well, it’s like my legs, I only shave them if I think I’m going to get lucky…
I honestly didn’t think it was going to be so intense. Getting old sucks. Maybe it’s all this leisure time, my body is looking for stuff to keep it occupied. Sending in the troops to grow random hairs all over our bodies except our heads seems like a plausible pastime. If we are ever caught barenaked out in the cold, the abundance of hair all over our bodies will keep us from freezing.
Rambling onto another subject, my book will be in the presses next week. I’m so excited, mostly because it’s finally finished, but also now I can move on to other projects. The newest adventure in my life is a podcast. I’ve been wanting to do one for over five years, and now it is a reality. Ask Nana Anything, I’m 11 podcasts in and still trying to figure it all out.
The saddest part of this is that it’s very, how should I explain this … hmmmm crude? It’s not polished or edited because I don’t know how to do that yet. I have to video it all in one take, and on one of them, my camera/phone fell three times omg. But whatever, I’m learning by trial and error, mostly error.
Here is the most astonishing thing: two of my posts have gone viral already. As basic and unedited as they are, there seems to be an insatiable desire to know more about thongs (and not the ones we used to wear on our feet lol). A person very close to me wanted to know how old is too old to wear one. Well, sir, the jury is still out on that one, and no, I’m not posting any pictures!!!!!
I have my place up for sale, and getting it cleaned up and looking decent is a huge chore. Weeds and leaves and sand and dirt and, and, but at least I’ve made a dent, and sitting out here writing this blog is worth it all. I’m not gonna lie, I’ll miss it here. I’ve mostly loved being here except for missing my kids dearly, especially at Christmas time, ah, well.
Making peace with having to spend my winters back home in Canada came easily enough. I love Canada, and having to live in a country with a president who denigrates our very existence is abhorrent to me. My political side can’t be silenced, and that is a shame, BUT no one called out Hitler either, and look how that all played out. Ah well…
I’m listening to my favorite radio station from home while out here writing. It’s the Sunday Sock Hop on 98 Cool with Vic Dubois and his son. I take this to the pool on weekday mornings as well, and listen to Greggor and Sarah. Isn’t the internet a wonderful thing? It’s all free on Tuned In Radio. It was -34 with the wind chill this morning back home, brrrrr.
On a final note, I just can’t believe how much ‘stuff’ I’ve accumulated in 11 years here. Selling my place with everything doesn’t make it that much easier. It’s all the personal crap I seem to have accumulated. I need my daughter-in-law here to organize me outta here… wawwwww. She is an A-1 certified organizer! My car is going to be loaded going home.
Selling should not be a problem; getting rid of all my stuff is what’s daunting, sheesh. Driving home in winter snow and ice could also be a problem, but I’ll worry about that when the time comes. And that’s it for me on this Sunday, November 30th. December 1st tomorrow, wow.
and now it’s time for my nap…. zzzzz lol
