Blogging all the way, April 13th 2024
Here I sit outside in my covered patio in Yuma Arizona. It’s windy but it’s a dry wind, a little Saskatchewan humour : ) In minus -40 temps we say it’s cold … but it is a dry cold, ah well forget it.
I’m fresh back from a short overnight road trip to San Diego. Life is good for me but the world seems to be taking a turn for the worse. How did this happen and what can we do about it? Well, there’s not much I can do about it, except write down my thoughts.
Here is what I think. How much more land and power do Russia and Putin need? They have twice as much land mass as we do in Canada, and we’re the second largest country in the world. Seriously, let’s think about this. Why did they figure they could move into Ukraine and take it over, did they need more land? The population of Russia is not that large at 145,000,000 million. The States has two and a half times more than Russia, at 340,000,000 million population, China and India each have over 1.4 Billion people but I’ll save that for another blog.
The States is the third largest country in the world but has the strongest military, according to Google. Thank God for that, democracy is at stake here. The States have so much on their plate trying to keep world peace, but lordy, lordy, they are at war within themselves with an election this fall. I want to share a little about this because I’m still in the South. There is good in this world and then there is evil!
Putin will not stop at Ukraine if he is not defeated. He rolled into Ukraine unprovoked, killing and bombing everyone and everything and crying ‘fowl’ when they fought back because we are sticking up for Ukraine and helping them. Israel is also at war now and it looks as if Iran may also be a threat. WTF is happening to us and why?
Well, it all starts with the bully in the schoolyard. When that bully gets away with everything and bullies his way to the top we all know what happens then. They lie, cheat, steal, and take down whomever they need to stay there.
You know that old saying, you are who you hang around with? Be wary of who your friends are. Well if you don’t have any friends that’s too bad. Check your deodorant or mouthwash; if you don’t use either, that could be the problem… just saying : ) A little humor here doesn’t hurt.
I think it all boils down to common sense, manners, politeness, being a good person, and of course, doing the right thing. The schoolyard bully will have to pay the price or eventually end up dead or in jail, OR serve as a one-term President of the United States. Either way, he has left a path of carnage in his wake. Setting the world back fifty years is my guestimate and making all this bullshit happening now, a reality.
How can one man be responsible you ask? Well, we need only look to Germany and Hitler to make any sense of this. It only takes one man and if he has Putin as a friend and Kim bringing up the rear and everyone that has turned a blind eye to his lying, cheating, stealing, and bullying. Well… anything is possible.
Did we bring this on ourselves you may wonder, and the answer is YES, yes we did. We let this happen because no one stood up and said “That’s enough!” He continues to get away with everything that comes outta his mouth and it seems he has no boundaries… even with gag orders! I’m sure the American people will come together and do the right thing, come the November elections, and Good will win over evil. But why did it even have to come to this?
As a female, we are once again being trashed and relegated to the back room, right here in Arizona where I spend my winters. The supreme court here has brought back an 1864 law banning abortions, women who get them can incur 2 to 5-year jail terms. Some may find this hard to believe, but it’s true and just happened here last week. Could one man be responsible for this you may wonder… I’ll leave this to you to figure out.
Are we going backward in time? I don’t know, but it isn’t pretty, and I worry not for me but for my kids. We need world peace, not wars and how do we accomplish this? I think in the future NATO will be all-important, and we need to give more support there, but I’m just a woman and what do I know?
UPDATE: I wrote this yesterday morning, Iran sent bombs over to Israel last night (edged on by Putin, said one news source). And so it all begins to unravel… what next?
PS: This same ex-president goes on trial tomorrow morning facing criminal charges, in the hush money case, to do with a stripper he ‘allegedly’ paid off. He has to be there all day, every day, and cannot speak in court or outside court. By the way, this is only one, of the one hundred and sixty criminal charges brought against him this past year.
hmmmmmm…… how are we doing so far?
I think it’s time for me to go home, I miss my kids.
